BCS to Implement Budget Planning and Execution Tool for U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of International Affairs
BCS has been providing lifecycle budget execution and systems support to the U.S. Department of Energy since 2003 utilizing the Corporate Planning System (CPS), and our staff have helped deploy the budget tool across multiple offices within the Department. In fall 2018, BCS will begin deployment of CPS for the Office of International Affairs (IA), which has primary responsibility within DOE for international cooperation on the issues of energy, science, and technology. DOE offices use CPS for integrated planning and execution of their annual appropriations. This figure has been as high as $2.5 billion in annual funding in a given fiscal year. The tool serves as an efficient means of streamlining budget execution, consolidating portfolio management, and standardizing budget and project reporting. We’re thrilled to be putting this capability to effective use for the agency’s IA team, and further solidifying our relationship with DOE.
